HATE to WAIT!

By Pastor Karl Bastian, Kidology.org

Waiting is hard! But some of the best things in life are worth waiting for!

Here’s a list of things kids often have to WAIT for. To make this activity interactive and fun, let’s use your body language to show how hard it is to wait for each one!

Here’s how it works:

  • If it’s EASY to wait for, keep your arms relaxed at your sides.
  • If it’s HARD, raise your arms above your head.
  • If it’s SUPER DUPER HARD, wave your arms wildly like the waiting meter is about to explode!
  • For anything in between, place your arms wherever you think best reflects how hard it is to wait.

To wrap up the activity, tie it in to your lesson. For example, if you’re talking about the Israelites had to wait for the Messiah, ask, “How hard do you think it was for God’s people to wait for their promised Messiah to arrive?” This will help tie the activity to your lesson.

Here’s your LIST of things kids must WAIT for:
(Read them in order, shuffle them randomly, or cut them into slips and draw them from a hat, box, or bowl!)
