Calming an Upset Child

It happens to the best of us – we have an inconsolable child. Perhaps they are new and unfamiliar with our church, perhaps they miss mom or dad, or maybe they are just having a bad day. Whatever the reason, they aren’t happy and seem determined to stay that way. A crying or pouting child is not only no fun for a volunteer but can also be distracting (or contagious) to the other children. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to change their attitude as quickly as possible.
