Goodbye Knots

Membership Level Starter

Author/Source: Tim Brown

Topic: God's Promises

A contest between two volunteers who untie knots off a rope is used to help teach why God is able to keep any promise he makes and where you can find those promises.

Knots in Block

Materials: 1 square wood block with a hole in the center, a 6–8-foot length piece of rope

Preparation: Ahead of time, drill a hole in the center of the wood block a little wider than your rope. Thread the rope through the block and tie knots every 8-12 inches along the rope on both sides with an equal number of knots per side.

Lesson: For this object lesson, you'll need two volunteers. You need to be able to untie knots, the faster the better. (Choose two older children close in age and skill set.)
