A simple science demonstration using a candle, plate, water, and a glass can be used to teach the truth that God's power is always available to his children when going through hard times.

A candle is set on a plate and then lit. Water is poured onto the plate, surrounding the candle. Then a clear glass is put over the candle. When the oxygen is burned out inside the glass the candle goes out, but the vacuum created pulls water from the plate inside the glass. A lesson accompanies it teaching that God's presence and help is there in a tangible way whenever you go through difficult times.
