When the Wise Men gave their gifts to Jesus – they were not given because they were needed in the moment, but because of what Jesus would do in the future. They were gifts that said, "I want to be a part of what you are going to do, and I want to honor who you are." As we celebrate Jesus today, we are faced with the same opportunity that these Wise Men faced – and we too would be wise to honor Him, not only with generosity, but with a tangible expression of anticipation of what Jesus will be doing in the new year. 

As you think about your gifts this season, I encourage you to prayerfully consider the ministries that are making a difference for Jesus. Of course, you think of your local church and missionaries, but think beyond that. Consider organizations that are actively sharing the love of Jesus with those who need Him most – especially children.
