Topic: Say No to Temptation

This object lesson is a different take on the egg in the bottle effect. Instead of an egg, it uses a balloon that gets sucked in a bottle to teach the importance of saying no to temptation.

Stuck in Sin

Materials: Balloon, jar with a narrow top, paper towel strips, match or lighter, straw, water.

Lesson: If you do an internet search on how many choices we make each day, the answer is a staggering 35,000 conscious choices. I find that hard to believe, but it shows we make a lot of decisions each day and even every hour.

If we make that many decisions every day, it's important that as many of them as possible are right ones. If you make a lot of bad decisions it will lead to making more bad decisions and even more and bring on a lot of problems.

The difficulty we face is there are a lot of temptations we face every day that try to suck us in and cause us to make bad decisions. One bad decision might not seem to be a problem but if it leads to another and then another and so on, it can become a big problem. Let me see if I can use a few objects to help you picture this.
